Addiction Counseling

Dealing with addiction is hard enough before we even think about the possibility of doing something about it. Don’t let fear, pain, or embarrassment stop you from talking to someone about what you’re going through. Rediscovery Wellness is built on the simple premise that we are all in recovery from something. That means we are going to treat everyone with the same compassion, dignity, and respect regardless of their circumstances.

Taking that step and asking for help is hard enough. At Rediscovery Wellness you will be welcomed without judgment, and without expectation. It isn’t our job to tell you what to do, it’s our job to listen to you and talk through the options that are available. You are the only subject matter expert in your life; we’re just here to help.

Inpatient treatment works for some. Others find success in intensive outpatient (IOP) programs. Maybe 12 Step meetings are the right fit for you, or maybe SMART Recovery meetings is a better choice. You don’t even have to want to stop using right now. All you need is the desire to improve your life and even then, you’re the one who ultimately decides what those improvements look like because recovery is not one size fits all.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) definition of recovery is “a process of change through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life, and strive to reach their full potential.”

In short, if you’re doing better, if you’re improving and gaining control of your life again, you’re doing it right. Don’t get caught up in trying to decide if you’re “recovered enough”, and ignore anyone who tells you their way is the only way. The only way to recover is the way that works for you. At its core, recovery is about personal growth. Do the best you can right now and keep doing your best. Your best today isn’t going to be as good as you’ll be capable of next week, but as you feel better you’ll be able do better.
